Open Farm Sunday

Join us for a special day at Elms Farm as we open our gates for the 2026 Open Farm Sunday on the 7th June, 10am till 2pm. This is your chance to explore behind the scenes of a working farm, meet the animals and discover the landscapes and practices that shape British agriculture.

Visitors can enjoy a range of activities throughout the day, including live sheep‑shearing demonstrations, machinery displays and self‑guided walks around the farm. Our scenic routes take you through areas such as our 2012 planted woodland, Herb Lay grassland and dedicated environmental protection zones - perfect for anyone who loves nature, wildlife and the countryside.

This event is free to attend with an online ticket and proudly forms part of the official LEAF Open Farm Sunday programme, celebrating the very best of British farming.

What You’ll See

  • Live Sheep Shearing: Our pedigree Shropshire flock will take centre stage as professional shearers demonstrate commercial shearing techniques. You’ll have the chance to ask questions, learn about wool production and admire the skill involved. Fleeces will be available to purchase on the day.

  • Meet the Cattle: ‘Atomic Lad’, our Northern Dairy Shorthorn bull and his herd of Traditional and Native Breed cows will be out in their field for visitors to see during the farm walk.

  • Farm Machinery & Displays: Explore a range of machinery used on the farm and chat to the team about how each piece plays a role in modern farming.

Food, Shopping & Local Stalls

Our farm shop and butchery will be offering a selection of produce, alongside hot food, cold drinks, and ice creams. A variety of craft stalls and local businesses will also be joining us, making it a great day out for families, food lovers and countryside enthusiasts.

Supporting Good Causes

All proceeds from donations collected during Open Farm Sunday will go directly to our chosen charities: The Yellow Wellies Foundation and The Farm Community Network (FCN) - two organisations doing vital work to support farming communities.
